I’m sitting under a giant grass thatched hut on the beach in a swimsuit and man it’s hot. A man walks by selling hats and sunglasses. What do I start thinking about? Passive income. Maybe I’m starting to becoming eccentric. In my mind I pontificate on how to engineer thought sequences and when I see an advertisement, I’m thinking of ways to optimize it. This whole year I’ve been focused on business systems and creating passivity in my business. What …

To celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary I decided it would be fun to take Kirsten to San Francisco for 5 days. For this trip I was able to use credit card points to get almost free air. Spending thousands of dollars per month on advertising has its perks. We spent the first day exploring SF’s Japan Town area and walking through a couple of the neighborhoods. As usual, we booked a room thru AirBnB and it turns out that it …

SANSEI Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar – I thought it would be a nice sushi bar, it turned out to be an overpriced crap hole with menu pricing scams.

Waikiki is one of Hawaii’s top vacation destinations.  If you know what you are doing it’s possible to enjoy a nice vacation on the cheap.  Here’s how: You don’t need to rent a car. You can get a shuttle from the airport to your hotel for $10 each way.  Once you are in Waikiki there is easily accessible public transportation and also dozens of tour operators that will take you on adventures for $20-80 per person. If guided tours and …

Working While Traveling – A few tips

Wouldn’t it be great to work online and be able to travel anywhere in the world while maintaining your income? For most online marketers and bloggers this is the dream – to travel to exotic lands and pay the way by working a few hours on their laptop. In reality this is a little trickier than you might think. Here are some observations I have noticed that will help you stay productive while “living the dream”: Find your groove and …

Central Restaurant Review

Upon checking into our room Nate and I were given a book of ads for local restaurants.  Nate found a really good looking hamburger and just had to have it.  So off we went to Caesars Palace to find the best looking hamburger. The restaurant is called Central by Michael Richard and it’s right next to the lobby at Caesars.  It was fantastic.  Not too expensive ($20-40 per person not including drinks), and definitely worth it.  If you are a …

Affiliate Summit West 2012

This year I decided to go to Affiliate Summit, which is kind of like a trade show/educational conference for people that do affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is simply running advertisements for companies and if your ads generate sales you get a commission. Affiliate marketing is the one of two primary ways blog writers make money online.  The other way is by selling ad space on their blogs. There are two ways to go to the summit.  One track is to …

A couple days in Sunriver Oregon

Right after Christmas we packed up our bags for a couple days at our friends house in Sun River Oregon. Located in Central Oregon about 4 hours south and east of Portland is a cozy resort town called Sun River.  Many people from Portland have vacation homes and like to spend their summer or winter vacation there.  Here’s a picture of the main lodge/resort in the summer: Behind the resort is a giant golf course.  The area is a high …

Is it safe to rent your house on AirBNB?

This thanksgiving we took a mini road-trip to Kalamath Falls to visit Kirstens Grandma & extended family. We figured since we would be gone for a couple days it would be a perfect test of renting out our house on AirBNB. We had previously tried to arrange home exchanges thru The Home Exchange, but never successfully arranged a swap. Making our listing on AirBNB was pretty quick and easy. We got a couple inquires within a week and ended up …

Madrid, Spain

Madrid is a very modern, vibrant and large city with an interesting mix of historical and modern buildings. I’m glad I don’t have to do any driving because the people here drive expensive cars very quickly and very close to each other. I really enjoyed seeing all the European styled cars. I saw a couple BMW models that they don’t have yet in the states and other models made by Ford that looked completely European. My wife Kirsten and I …
